According to the relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Bureau, since China implemented the 72/144-hour transit visa-free policy in January 2013, the transit visa-free policy has played an important role in serving the country's high-level opening up, facilitating the exchange of Chinese and foreign personnel and promoting foreign exchanges and cooperation. The expansion of the 144-hour transit visa-free policy in the two provinces has provided more choices for foreigners to travel and trade in China. In the next step, the National Immigration Bureau will continuously improve and optimize the transit visa-free policy, continue to deepen the institutional opening of immigration management, welcome foreigners to China with a more open attitude, and fully serve to promote high-level openness and high-quality development.
