Since January 1, 2014, Shenyang and Dalian have implemented 72-hour visa-free transit for foreign tourists.

Since June 1st, 2014, 72-hour transit visa-free has been implemented in Xi 'an.

From July 28th, 2014, Guilin implemented 72-hour visa-free transit for tourists from 51 countries.

From January 30, 2016, all open ports in Shanghai, Nanjing Airport in Jiangsu Province and Hangzhou Airport in Zhejiang Province will implement visa-free transit policies for personnel from 51 countries who hold valid international travel documents and set a date and seat for a third country (region) within 144 hours.

From August 1, 2016, the original 72-hour transit visa-free of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport was upgraded to 144-hour transit visa-free of Guangdong Province.

From December 28, 2017, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei provinces will jointly implement the visa-free policy for foreigners in some countries for 144 hours.

Since January 1, 2018, Shenyang and Dalian airports have implemented a 144-hour transit visa-free policy for some foreigners. Foreigners with visa-free transit can enter or leave the country at any port in Shenyang and Dalian, covering all administrative regions of Liaoning Province.

According to industry sources, in Shanghai alone, 100,000 foreigners enter the country through transit visa-free every year. In 2015, Beijing also launched GDS (Global Destination Distribution System) to increase the number of inbound transit passengers in Beijing and promote the 72-hour transit policy and products in Beijing that year.

72-hour transit visa-free

Foreigners who meet and meet the following three conditions can apply for 72-hour transit visa exemption: citizens of 53 countries who belong to the 72-hour transit visa exemption scope; Holding my valid international travel certificate and a joint flight ticket to a third country (region) with the date and seat confirmed within 72 hours; Transit from an airport that allows transit to a third country (region).

144-hour transit visa-free

At present, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and Liaoning have conditionally opened 144-hour transit visa-free to citizens of 53 countries (the same as the list of countries where the 72-hour transit visa-free policy is applicable), that is, citizens can be exempted from visas with their valid international travel documents and joint air tickets to the third country/region within 144 hours.

Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai: When transiting from Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai Railway Station and Shanghai Port International Passenger Transport Center, Wusongkou International Cruise Port or Jiangsu Nanjing Lukou International Airport and Zhejiang Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, you can choose any of the above ports for entry or exit.

And can stay in Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province for 144 hours without a visa;

Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei: When transiting from Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing Railway West Railway Station, Tianjin Binhai International Airport, Tianjin International Cruise Home Port or zhengding international airport and Qinhuangdao Seaports in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, you can choose any of the above ports to enter or leave the country, and you can stay in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province for 144 hours without a visa;
