China, Guangzhou, Huangpu Village, Travel Guide!
Huangpu Village, a natural village under the jurisdiction of Pazhou Street, Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is a traditional village in China. It is located on Pazhou Island and Huangpu Chongbei with a village area of 2.5 square kilometers [1]. Huangpu Village was born out of water and prospered because of Hong Kong. It is a typical representative of Guangzhou's thousand-year-old commercial port character. It is not only one of the birthplaces of China's Maritime Silk Road, but also a famous foreign trade port, and it is also an important witness of China's foreign exchange and trade, such as the beginning of Sino-US trade. Huangpu Village retains a relatively complete village pattern, showing the characteristics of a typical clan village with many surnames in Guangfu. There are some special buildings in the village, such as "Japanese House", "Aunt House" and "Fun Garden" used by merchants in Qing Dynasty, and many unique customs such as "dancing dragons instead of lions", "eating fish can't be turned over" and "following the tail first" are retained. On August 26th, 2013, Huangpu Village was announced as the second batch of traditional villages in China by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance.
