Jiaju Tibetan Village is located in Danba County, Ganzi Prefecture, about 8 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a residential village with Jiarong Tibetan characteristics.
"Jiaju" means a hundred families in Tibetan. As the name suggests, on the hillside with a relative height difference of nearly 1,000 meters, Tibetan-style buildings are scattered among green trees, dotted with smoke from kitchen chimneys and peach blossoms, which is quiet and chic. Generally, every household in the village has the first floor, and the village building faces south, all of which are wood and stone structures. The wooden frame and eaves are all red, and the walls are painted white or the primary colors are alternating with white. On the eve of the Spring Festival every year, according to the traditional custom, the host will take the local "white mud" as the main raw material and carefully paint and dye the wall of the village building, so that the whole Tibetan village is covered with white costumes.
It is very spectacular to visit the Tibetan village and see the panoramic view on the hillside opposite the village. After entering the Tibetan village, you can only see scattered Tibetan buildings. Most of the buildings are 3-and 4-storey buildings, with livestock in captivity on the lower floor, followed by a pot room, a living room, a lecture hall and a watchtower, and some buildings also have balconies. The white walls are painted with sun, moon, stars and religious patterns, which are beautiful and spectacular.
If you want to enter the local villagers' homes for a "home visit", you usually have to give the homeowner two yuan tickets, but they are not fixed. The homeowner may not accept them when he is in a good mood. You can visit the interior decoration and structure of these beautiful small buildings, but don't rush into the hall. When you meet a hospitable host, you will be invited to drink buttered tea and eat Ciba to feel the enthusiasm of collectors.
